The Centre’s dithering on issue of oil bonds has pushed Hindustan Petroleum Corporation into the red in the second quarter of this fiscal with losses totalling Rs 136.68 crore from profits of Rs 649 crore in the first.
The Anil Ambani-promoted Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL) alleged on Wednesday before the Supreme Court, which is hearing the gas row involving the Ambani brothers, that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) was hand-in-glove with the Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) in the dispute over gas supply from the KG basin D6 block.
Amara Raja Batteries Ltd has recorded a net profit of Rs 47.9 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009, up 155 per cent from Rs 18.79 crore posted in the corresponding quarter last year.
NDTV Imagine, the Hindi general entertainment channel owned by NDTV, may soon welcome a new investor, with NBC Universal exiting the venture. The new investor, according to The Guardian-owned website, ContentSutra, could be Turner Broadcasting, though other names have been doing the rounds, too.
